My VW Life

Well, actually before I had a license my brother gave me this 1970 Fastback.

It never ran but I did a major cleanup and turned it for $500 to a Hispanic that didn't speak English and kept pointing at things saying "work? work?" All I new how to say was "Se. Se."

My first running Volkswagen was this 1973 I emptied my bank account to buy for $1,195 my sophomore year in high school.

Painting the trim out in black made this car 'Pop'

This is the paint scheme I was saving up for but unfortunately, that never happened.

After starting college in Atlanta, my little brother told me about a 1966 Standard Bus a friend of his was selling. I took a look, and I bought...

The previous owner was a skater who I think had done a few too many head plants off of the roof leaving it irreparable so with very little deliberation I brought out the Sawzal...

Mid project I totaled the Beetle and bought a 1973 Midnight blue Super Beetle that I turned quickly before I could take a picture because I had a chance encounter with my dream car at a very affordable price... No, not the Buick... The sweeeet Ghia convertible.

A little paint, some bondo and some indoor outdoor carpet to the Bus and Presto...

I sold her shortly after this show to a guy in Florida who was going to use it for tours in Panama City.
I sometimes wonder if it's still out there.
